This policy explains what information Spike Rally (the "Game", "we", "us") handles when you play at spikerally.buzz, how it is used, and the choices you have. We keep it as small as we can: there are no accounts, and we never ask for your name, email or payment details to play.
1. Information stored on your device
The Game saves your progress (stars, unlocked items, settings, league and tournament state and career stats) in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can delete it any time with Stats > Reset progress, or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
2. Cookies and advertising
The Game does not currently show ads or set advertising cookies. If we add ads in the future (for example through Google AdSense), we will update this policy first, explain which partners are used and how they use cookies, and ask for consent where the law requires it.
3. Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages and countries visitors come from, so we know how the Game is doing. It doesn't use cookies, and it reports aggregated numbers rather than identifying individual visitors.
4. Online play
When you play a friend online, your browser connects directly to theirs (WebRTC). To set up the connection, the Game uses these third-party services, which see your IP address while connecting:
| Service | What it does |
|---|---|
| PeerJS server (0.peerjs.com) | Introduces the two players' browsers using the room code. |
| Google and Cloudflare STUN servers | Help each browser find a route to the other. |
| Public MQTT relays (EMQX, HiveMQ, Eclipse Mosquitto) | Pass game moves between the players only when a direct connection isn't possible. |
Because the connection is direct, your opponent's browser can technically see your IP address. Online matches send only game data (your team, moves and the score); there is no chat, and we don't keep a record of matches. Only play online with people you trust.
5. Hosting and server logs
The website is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and keep it secure, and may keep short-lived logs.
6. Children
The Game is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Legal basis (EEA and UK)
We rely on our legitimate interest in running, securing and improving the Game for hosting, analytics and online play.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Since we don't hold accounts or profiles, most data lives on your own device or with the providers named above, but we are happy to help: email YOUR-EMAIL@example.com.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Game changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
