You coach the team in the near half of the court. Your players move by themselves; you make the decisions. Here is each call, with the controls for mouse, touch and keyboard.
1. Serve
Move the pointer over the far court to aim, then click or tap (or press Space). The power bar swings up and down: a harder serve is tougher to pass but less accurate. Serving at the seams between two passers often forces a bad pass.
2. Set
When your team passes, numbers appear over your front-row hitters. Click one, or press 1 to 3, to choose who gets the ball. If you don't choose, the setter decides. Sending the set away from where the blockers are standing gives your hitter an easier swing.
3. Attack

While the set is in the air, quickly pick a shot with the buttons or keys 1 to 6, then click where it should land:
| Shot | What it does | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Power | The fastest, hardest spike. | The block is late or only one blocker is up. |
| Line | Aims itself down the sideline. | The block leaves the line open. |
| Cross | Aims itself across the court. | The block is set on the line. |
| Roll | A slow, high shot over the block into open space. | The defence is deep. |
| Tip | Drops the ball just over the net. | Defenders are back expecting a spike. |
| Tool | Hits off the blockers' hands so the ball goes out. | A big block is waiting for you. |
Aiming right on the lines is risky: a small miss sends the ball out.
4. Block

When the other team passes, call your block with the buttons or keys 1 to 4. Commit Left, Middle or Right to stack all three blockers there before the set (a great block if you guess right, an open net if you don't), or choose Read to react with two blockers.
Playing a friend online
Choose Play online, create a room and send the code or invite link to a friend. Each of you makes the calls for your own team, and you both see the court from your own end. If the connection drops, the game waits up to 30 seconds for it to come back.
